At May Veterinary, we take pride in staying up-to-date on the latest veterinary technology and medical advancements. We offer cold laser therapy for pets, a noninvasive, pain-free, and drug-free treatment that reduces inflammation and pain due to surgical incisions, trauma, and acute or chronic illness.
Also known as K-Laser, cold laser therapy uses deep-penetrating light energy to activate a positive cellular response. The treatment significantly helps with pain relief, and it also reduces swelling, stimulates blood circulation, and encourages your pet’s body to heal itself naturally. Since no drugs are required, this advanced therapeutic treatment works especially well for pets who don’t respond well to specific medications.
At May Veterinary, our experienced team uses laser therapy to help your pet feel better and speed up the healing and recovery process.
This therapy can treat a variety of common veterinary conditions:
- Sprains, tears, and fractures
- Bites, cuts, and abrasions
- Post-surgical incisions
- Tendonitis and arthritis
- Hip dysplasia
What to Expect
Cold laser therapy is a pain-free treatment, so your pet shouldn’t feel any discomfort. Treatments last about 2-5 minutes per site and most pets remain relaxed during the procedure.
Depending on the severity of the medical condition, you should notice positive results after a few treatments. For some acute conditions, 2-3 treatments are all that’s needed for improvement and recovery.
Rest assured that your pet will be completely safe when receiving laser therapy. The treatment has been used by veterinarians for over 20 years and very few side effects have been reported.
Please note that laser therapy is only available at our Northridge location.
