Dr. Waller May

Waller May

Dr. Waller May started working for his father in his early teens.  He, along with his brothers, cleaned cages, bathed dogs, and helped in exam rooms.  Later, he assisted with procedures and surgeries.  

In 1989 Dr. May graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University and worked in Orlando, Florida before returning to Tuscaloosa to join his father.  Dr. Waller May is licensed in both Alabama and Florida.  Dr. May enjoys the variety veterinary medicine offers, however he has a special interest in dermatology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. 

Dr. May and his family attend Capstone Church.  He and his wife, Susan have three sons.  Their five dogs travel with him daily and can be found at the clinic greeting pets and their owners.  Dr. May enjoys the outdoors, whether it be working at home in the yard, attending football games on The Plain or exploring the beauty of Montana.

Dr. Chris Gladney

Dr Christine Gladney has been with May Veterinary since 2005 (she also did a stint with us between 1995-97). Being a veterinarian is in her blood; she was surrounded by animals on the farm she grew up on in New Jersey and worked in a veterinary hospital during high school and college.

Dr Gladney received her undergraduate degree in Animal and Dairy Science from Auburn University in 1993. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 1997. She also won the Upjohn Pharmacia Award for Proficiency upon her graduation. Today Dr Gladney has a special interest in feline medicine. She is a member of the Tuscaloosa County Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr Gladney adopted a three-legged cat named Nubbins from the clinic who lives at home with many other pets and farm animals. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening and cooking. She volunteers at her daughters’ schools and is a member of Romulus United Methodist Church.

Dr. Trisha Creamer

Trisha Creamer

Dr. Trisha Creamer has been a part of the May Veterinary team since 2016. She is a Tuscaloosa native and graduated from Northside High School in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Dairy sciences from Auburn University in 2006 and later her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2013.

Her professional interests include feline medicine, dentistry, and dermatology. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association.

In her free time, Dr. Creamer can be found spending time with her family – her wonderful husband, Adam, and their 3 cats, Lilly Francis, Edy Mae, and Jenny. She and her husband love to travel and spend time with their nieces and nephew.




Bambi Hyche

Veterinary/Office Assistant Bambi Hyche has been with us since May of 1998, and assists with many tasks in the clinic including: billing, scheduling appointments, dispensing and administering medications, surgery admissions and assisting in the exam rooms.

"I like working in a family-owned practice," she said about working with the May family. "The doctors and staff genuinely care about our clients and their pets."

Bambi has a rescue dog named “Maddie” and two cats named “Mac” and “Cheese.”  She loves being outdoors on the river and spending time with her family.

Amelie Jonas

Amelie Jonas

Amelie joined the May veterinary team in January of 2013 as a kennel/veterinary assistant and is currently working as a technician assisting doctors in exam rooms and in surgery. Amelie also works part time at our local veterinary emergency clinic.

Amelie enjoys caring for the hospitilized pets, as well as interacting with the boarding pets. She has a Bloodhound named Clyde and a cat named Chloe. In her free time, Amelie enjoys the outdoors and catching up with friends. 





Brittany Washington

Brittany has been with May Veterinary since 2009 where she started as a kennel assistant and then as a technician. She is currently a 3rd year veterinary student at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, where she is a member of the Student Government Association, Phi Zeta Honor Society and Class President.

While home on breaks she fills in as a technician, assisting the doctors in exam rooms and during surgical procedures. She also fills in as a technician at our local veterinary emergency clinic. She begins her clinical rotations in January 2020 at Mississippi State University and will graduate in December 2020. Brittany’s primary focus is cats and dogs with a special interest in Cardiology.

Brittany grew up in Birmingham but has been a Tuscaloosa resident since 2005 and hopes to return to Tuscaloosa once she graduates. In her free time, Brittany loves spending time with her husband Alex and their 3 pups, Stella, Barley, and Abita. She also loves catching up with friends and family, Alabama Football, and traveling.


Renea Cook

Renea joined May Veterinary in August of 2013. She is involved in many areas of our practice including scheduling appointments and reservations, refilling medication, managing the phone lines and checking in/out clients.

Renea enjoys working with the staff and seeing all the happy faces from our patients each day. Renea has two dogs- a black mixed shepherd named Lexie and a blue dapple dachshund named Rusty.

When she is not working, Renea enjoys spending her free time with her sister and taking her dogs to the lake to play and swim.

Petra Salzarulo

Veterinary Assistant Petra Salzarulo has been with May Veterinary since August of 2011 and has worked with animals professionally for more than 20 years.

Petra helps clean and care for our patients. When asked what she likes about working at the clinic she said, "basically everything about my job."

Petra has both dogs and cats at home and enjoys all outdoor activities, including hiking, jogging, gardening, and cooking.
