Dr. Guy May
Dr. Guy May, one of five sons, was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He grew up around veterinary medicine, working at his father's veterinary practice at a very young age.
He majored in English for his undergraduate studies at Auburn University, and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Following graduation, Dr. May returned to Tuscaloosa to join his father and brother in practice.
Dr. May enjoys the diversity of veterinary medicine, allowing him to participate in many areas of practice including derrmatology, internal medicine, oncology, radiology, surgery, denistry and pharmacology.
The highlight of his career, so far, is that he met his wife, Beverly, through the practice. They are the proud parents of two children, Will and Meg. Currently they have two dogs, Jenny and Markie, and and a cat named Bruce. Dr. May is an avid runner, having completed many marathons, including the Boston Marathon and has participated in several Hood to Coast Relays in Oregon. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, working in the yard, playing tennis, reading and trail running.
He and his family are active members of the First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa and Dr. May currently serves as a member of the Tuscaloosa City School Board and the Metro Animal Shelter Advisory Committee.
Dr. Kevin McIlwaine
Dr. Trisha Creamer
Dr. Trisha Creamer has been a part of the May Veterinary team since 2016. She is a Tuscaloosa native and graduated from Northside High School in 2001. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal and Dairy sciences from Auburn University in 2006 and later her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2013.
Her professional interests include feline medicine, dentistry, and dermatology. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association.
In her free time, Dr. Creamer can be found spending time with her family – her wonderful husband, Adam, and their 3 cats, Lilly Francis, Edy Mae, and Jenny. She and her husband love to travel and spend time with their nieces and nephew.
Veterinary Technician Kim Romain performs a variety of tasks at the clinic, including assisting the vets, taking radiographs, performing bloodwork, placing IV catheters, trauma management, laser therapy, inventory management, employee scheduling and client education. She has been with May Veterinary since 2005 and has been working in animal-related fields for the past 30 years.
She has had many pets over the years, and currently has a mini farm, which includes cats, dogs, and horses. Two of her pets, a dog and horse, are registered pet therapy animals.
Kim and her dog, Cooper, are presently involved in a Canine Search and Rescue program. In her spare time, Kim enjoys dog training and competing in canine performance sports.
Kelsey, a third year veterinary student at Auburn University, began working at May Veterinary in August of 2014. When home on breaks, Kelsey fills in as a technician, assisting the doctors in exam rooms and during surgical procedures. She begins her clinical rotations in March 2019 and will graduate in May 2020. Kelsey's primary focus is cats and dogs but she loves all things small and furry.
Kelsey is a native of Tuscaloosa and has been married to her high school sweetheart for five years. Together they have cats and dogs of their own and refer to them as the Summerford Zoo. In her free time Kelsey enjoys watching Alabama football and doing anything outdoors.
Bess is originally from Moundville, Alabama and has been with the May Veterinary family for over 45 years.
Bess is married and has 4 children and three grandchildren. In her free time, when not spending time with her grandchildren, Bess enjoys taking long drives in the country and taking trips to the mountains.
Bess has had many animals of all kinds and truely enjoys having a part in caring for them.
Tana is a native of Alabama and grew up in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. She has been with the May Veterinary family since July 2014.
Before joining May Veterinary, she was a dance instructor and photographer for over 20 years in Alabama and Texas. She has always had a love for animals, and after volunteering at the Gulf Shores Zoo she started working and managing veterinary clinics.
In her free time, Tana loves spending time with her husband, Tommy, and her friends and family. She also loves caring for her two fur babies, Romee (Labradoodle) and Charlee (Maltipoo).
Working at May Veterinary Northridge has been an incredibly rewarding experience and she is grateful to work with such a dedicated team of doctors, staff and clients.
Kayla hails from Samantha, AL and is the youngest daughter of two. She joined the staff of May Veterinary in 2017.
She has always loved animals and grew up surrounded by many creatures. When she was young, she made it her life mission to provide care for every lizard she could find. After one mishap, she is now terrified of them. Who knew they could bite?
She is a proud mother of a Boxer mix named Brody and his younger brother, a cat called Mad Max.
When she is not working or relaxing, you can usually find her covered in paint while helping her husband remodel homes. Kayla spends her free time reading, playing video games, going on long hikes and pretending she's Lara Croft.
Mary Ann Martin
Mary Ann was born in Illinois, but raised in Florida. She has been involved in the veterinary field for over 20 years, working as a kennel attendant, technician and receptionist.
So far, Mary Ann has had the pleasure and honor of caring for some really wonderful dogs, a few cats and one really awesome horse. She currently lives with three wonderful dogs, a really spunky cat.
Mary Ann is married and the mother of an amazing son. And one day she hopes to live on a small farm in the country with horses, dogs cats and chickens. She looks forward to spending another 20 years involved in veterinary medicine.
Ashley grew up in a small town in Pickens County Alabama. Having many animals growing up, she has always wanted to work in an animal related field.
Ashley has now been at May Veterinary for almost 10 years. She loves how "hands on" the job can be and that she continues to learn new things on almost a daily basis.
Ashley currently has two dogs, a 7 year old husky mix named Archie and a 3 year ols terrier named Moose. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and exploring new places.
Pam was born and raised in the Shoals area of North Alabama and has been working in the veterinary field for almost 20 years. She has been employed with May Veterinary since 2009.
Pam finds enjoyment working with not only the pets but also their owners. Her hobbies include hiking, traveling, and attending University of Florida sporting events. Go Gators!
Pam currently has two dogs- a Pit Bull named Rowdy and a Blue Heeler named Blue. She also has a stray cat named Mike and two horses.
